Postage is £3 for orders up to £50 and £7.85 for orders over £50.  All coins may be returned within 28 days for a refund of the coin purchase price, though you pay the return postage.   For orders of two or more coins there may be a small discount available - just ask.   

     

Ireland, Monte de Piete farthing

  • These tokens were issued by the Monte de Piete, a type of charitable pawnshop established to provide financial services to the needy without charging high interest rates.
  • The tokens were often used in place of currency, especially in periods of coin shortages.

George V - Penny stamped with "Exmouth" 

  • HMS Exmouth: an E-class destroyer flotilla leader built for the RN in the early 1930s. During the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939 she spent time in Spanish waters, enforcing the arms blockade.
  • Exmouth was assigned to convoy escort and anti-sub patrol duties in the Western Approaches when WWII began. She was sunk by a German sub. in Jan. 1940 while escorting a merchant ship north of Scotland.
